Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard surfaces
A resurgent the Russian player secured his first title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging season, winning just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in particular - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Moutet.
This marks his maiden trophy after the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface from spring of that year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 championships at twenty-one different competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my both daughters together, so to win a championship is particularly special," stated tennis professional Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.
His defensive approach and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted commentators to question if his skill to compete at the top level was finished.
However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and compete aggressively, supported by an improved service.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the final five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors traded break points in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his maiden tour victory, took control to force a decider.
The opponent rescued four early break points in a tight final set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the net, with his opponent failing to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
